A fire broke out recently in a local grocery store, landing one Mesa, Arizona flooring contractor in the hospital for smoke inhalation. The store was undergoing renovations at the time, and fire officials believe the cause of the fire was heat emanating from an emergency generator that caused papers and boxes to go up in flames. There were construction personnel on site at the time of the blaze working on the Mesa store’s floor installation, but they were able to escape when they saw smoke emanating from the mechanical room. The majority of the store was undamaged and the owner hope he will be able to open it again shortly.
