A local Presbyterian Church, over 100 years old, is undergoing renovations. Thanks to a donation of over $50,000, the church is able to afford having Akron, Ohio flooring contractors install a new floor and new pews. The church will become more accessible by improving ramps, putting in new stairways and spacing out the pews more. While the renovation may cause the church to lose 20 or 30 seats, the church’s reverend says being more accessible is worth it. The church, which was dedicated May 16, 1897, has only seen one significant upgrade to its sanctuary since it opened its doors – a 1952 floor installation in which Akron contractors replaced the original floor.
